Eligibility and visa

Eligibility
Completed all required anaesthesia examinations, registered with the official regulatory authorities, and at least 5 years of anaesthesia training and experience at an academic centre (1 may be a rotational/internship year); 1–2 years as staff anaesthesiologist strongly advised; current ACLS certification required; significant experience managing life-threatening situations required
International applicants
Yes — applicants trained in countries where English is not the primary language must demonstrate effective communication in English
Visa support
Institution policyinternational clinical fellows need an IRCC work permit; the PGME Office issues an LMIA-exempt offer of employment number and supports the work permit application
Licence requirement
Institution policyclinical fellows must hold a CPSO certificate of registration authorising postgraduate education (educational licence); research fellows do not need CPSO registration
