- Welcomes domestic and international fellows; sponsored fellows must apply via sponsoring agencies with an active PGME educational contract; English proficiency evidence (IELTS Academic 7.0 in each band or OET Medicine grade B) required where medical school was not primarily in English.

- After acceptance, the PGME office provides instructions for applying for a work permit.

- Educational licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA), arranged through PGME after acceptance.

- Rolling offers for 1 July starts: Canadian graduates should apply at least 10–12 months before 1 July; international medical graduates at least 18–24 months before 1 July.
