Eligibility
Observers need a Stanford faculty host plus departmental and Stanford Hospital Compliance/GME approval; visiting residents need at least one ACGME-accredited residency/fellowship year, letter of agreement and written faculty consent
International applicants
Yes - international physicians and professionals may apply as visiting observers (observation only, no patient care)

Licence requirement
Institution policyMedical Board of California Postgraduate Training License required within 180 days of starting an ACGME programme (USMLE Steps 1 & 2 CK passed); non-ACGME programmes require a full California licence by the start date
