Eligibility and visa

Eligibility
Institution policymedical degree from a WDOMS-listed school recognised in Canada; completed specialty training; RCPSC/CFPC or recognised international certification (or exam-eligible); English proficiency (e.g. IELTS 7 each band); fellowship must be in the same discipline as specialist recognition
International applicants
American/foreign medical graduates must contact the Departmental Education Program Coordinator first; Foreign Trainee applications go through the uOttawa PGME office online fellowship application system
Visa support
Institution policyinternational trainees need an IRCC work permit (LMIA-exempt); the uOttawa PGME/immigration advisor provides the documents needed to apply (CPSO letter of eligibility and LMIA-exemption number)
