Eligibility and visa
- Eligibility
- Fellowship of the Faculty of Radiologists and Radiation Oncologists or equivalent qualification (e.g. Saudi Boards); four years of accredited training completed before commencement; registered or eligible for registration on the Supervised Division of the Irish Medical Council register; IELTS 7.0 overall (6.5 in each band) or OET grade B in all categories, test-centre results only.
- International applicants
- Delivered through the International Medical Graduate Training Initiative (HSE / Forum of Irish Postgraduate Medical Training Bodies), aimed primarily at doctors from countries with less developed health sectors; trainees are expected to return to their country of origin after training.

- Successful candidates must obtain an atypical visa and work permit before appointment.

- Supervised registration with the Irish Medical Council; medical indemnity certificate; registration with the Faculty's Professional Competence Scheme.
