Eligibility and visa

Eligibility
Medical degree acceptable to the GMC; four or more years of specialty training at entry; passed Part 1 College exam or UK equivalent; postgraduate specialty qualification (UK Royal College membership/fellowship or equivalent home-country qualification); recent full-time clinical work; IELTS (7.0 each band, 7.5 overall) or OET (grade B each) within two years before GMC application; resident overseas when applying. Alternatively, already GMC-registered with at least four years of specialty training.
International applicants
Designed for international doctors; applicants must be resident overseas when applying and willing to return home after the visa expires.
Visa support
Successful candidates complete visa applications as part of pre-employment checks; GOSH can provide GMC sponsorship for entry onto the UK Medical Register.
