Eligibility and visa

Eligibility
Preference for prior Internal Medicine and Hematology training in a Canadian, British, Australian, New Zealand or US program
International applicants
Candidates not meeting University of Ottawa training criteria must complete a PEAP (pre-entry assessment) before starting
Visa support
Institution policyinternational trainees need an IRCC work permit (LMIA-exempt); the uOttawa PGME/immigration advisor provides the documents needed to apply (CPSO letter of eligibility and LMIA-exemption number)
Licence requirement
Institution policyCPSO postgraduate education (educational) certificate of registration required, renewed annually; internationally trained clinical fellows must complete a 4-12 week Pre-Entry Assessment Program (PEAP); three-year licensure limit for clinical fellowships
