Completed a traditional fellowship in neonatology
International applicants
Institution policyInternational graduates may train at UI Health Care on GMEC-approved visas (ECFMG J-1, H-1B, etc.) if they meet Iowa licensure and USMLE requirements; acceptance of visa holders is at department discretion
Visa support
Institution policy (UI Health Care GMEC): acceptable visas are ECFMG J-1, J-2 with EAD, H-1B, H-4 with EAD, E-3 (Australians only) and F-1 OPT (first year only); J-1 requires USMLE Steps 1-2, H-1B requires Steps 1-3; no department is obliged to accept visa holders
Licence requirement
Institution policyAn Iowa resident physician licence (or permanent licence) from the Iowa Board of Medicine is required for any resident/fellow practising in Iowa and must be obtained before training begins
