Eligibility and visa

Eligibility
Licensed medical practitioner; Canadian residency graduates must complete PGY1-5; US graduates ABO certified/eligible; other foreign graduates must show completion of an approved programme; CPSBC English proficiency
International applicants
Yes - graduates of foreign ophthalmology programmes eligible with proof of completion; accepted candidates need a visa/work permit and medical exam (start at least 6 months ahead)

Visa required; department issues acceptance letter and required documentation (UBC immigration process for foreign clinical fellows)
Licence requirement
CPSBC licence before start; IELTS/OET/CELPIP minimum 7 in each component if English not language of instruction
