- Medical degree from an MEC-recognised school; foreign diplomas must be revalidated in Brazil, plus Brazilian permanent-residence visa for doctors from countries that are not full MERCOSUL members (edital); Orthopaedics and Traumatology medical residency recognised by CNRM/MEC, completed by 28 February 2026 (2026 edital); Specialist title in Orthopaedics and Traumatology (TEOT) from SBOT; Regular standing with the regional medical council (CRM) at enrolment
