Eligibility and visa
- Eligibility
- Fulfilled FRCS(C) requirements and an independent medical licence from the province of Ontario; preference for those planning an academic career
- International applicants
- Exceptional candidates from outside Canada considered if they show potential and are self-funded
- Visa support
- Institution policyinternational clinical fellows need an IRCC work permit; the PGME Office issues an LMIA-exempt offer of employment number and supports the work permit application
- Licence requirement
- Certificate of registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO); internationally trained physicians must complete the 4–12-week Pre-Entry Assessment Program (PEAP) before full acceptance (department application guidelines)
